Experimental Group's late night drinking, dining and live music venue on the former Roadhouse site in Covent Garden will launch later this year.

Announced last year, the venue will be inspired by the late-night cultures of New York and London and with undertones of Parisian chic, Stereo will offer ‘a masterfully curated mix of music, food and drinks’.

Acme Fire Cult chef Andrew Clarke will consult on a menu of American-inspired bar classics for the site's restaurant space as well as seperate menu of light bites that will be available across the venue.

“I’m delighted to be working with the Experimental Group team - they are pioneers in creating destination bars, hotels and restaurants and Stereo is set to be another incredible and unique venue,” Clarke says.

Experimental Group London portfolio includes the Experimental Cocktail Club in Chinatown and Covent Garden's Henrietta Hotel, DA Henrietta and La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels.

Accompanying the food at the Covent Garden The Piazza-based venue will be an extensive drinks menu featuring South Bermondsey microbrewery Partizan and Thames Distillers (creating Stereo house vodka and gin blends), as well as the likes of Biercraft, Hine Cognac and The Lakes Distillery, alongside a high-end cocktail menu.

Central to the offering will be a dynamic and eclectic music programme each night - a house band will offer ‘relaxed vibes’, before the stage welcomes a rotating series of resident DJs and curated one-off artist performances, overseen by Cassius Consultancy.

The Experimental Group was founded in Paris in 2007 by childhood friends Olivier Bon, Pierre-Charles Cros and Romée de Goriainoff with Xavier Padovani later joining the trio to create a business that 'offers the ultimate hospitality experience to an ever-demanding clientele'.

Credited with bringing the cocktail bar culture to Paris, the Experimental Group operates four Experimental Cocktail Club bars; three wine bars;  and eight hotels, beach clubs and restaurants in locations including the US, Spain and Italy.
