Green & Fortune has announced additional payments to its staff to help during the cost of living crisis.

Payments of up to £600 per person will be made to the team (pro-rated where appropriate) with an aggregated cost of more than £100,000 paid out between November 2022 and February 2023.

The payments, part of Green & Fortune Supports initiative, are to be made based on salary with hourly employees and those earning less than £30,000 benefitting most.

“We’ve built an incredible team of people who are invested in the business’s success and therefore we want to repay this commitment as we face an extraordinary and untrodden outlook,” says John Nugent, chief executive at Green & Fortune.

“We’ve ensured that those most in need will benefit most financially and want to add something tangible into our duty of care around each and every person in our team.”

The hospitality business, which operates four London venues - Kings Place in King’s Cross, Sea Containers and Rose Court on the South Bank, and Central Hall Westminster in Westminster, is currently a beyond London living wage employer.

The company also runs its Green & Fortune Supports initiative, which was initially launched to help its employees and those who had between displaced during the pandemic.

This week Pret a Manger announced that it was investing an additional £10m in staff wages in what will be its second staff pay rise this year.
