A new bar, restaurant and live entertainment venue has taken over the space that was once home to The Vaults in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

Inspired by the speakeasy scene of 1920s New York, Tabu is described as a high-energy, late-night focused venue and will offer a menu of Pan Asian cuisine.

Menu items include a selection of sushi and sashimi and chicken yakitori.

The subterranean venue comprises a spacious bar and dining area, along with private booths for groups, and will be home to live music every Thursday-Sunday night.

The interior brings together exposed brick, mood lighting and luxury furnishings with industrial arches and plush interiors combining to create a backdrop for ‘the most Insta-worthy night out’.

The 400-capacity venue will launch later this month in time for a major New Year’s Eve party and will start offering bottomless brunches and daytime lunches from 12pm on Saturdays and Sundays early next year.
