D&D London has closed its Avenue and Radici restaurants in the capital, as well as East 59th in Leeds as part of a strategic review of its portfolio.

The group announced it had ceased trading across all three sites in a statement that also confirmed the closure of the group's only Bristol-based restaurant, Klosterhaus.

"Like many other businesses in the hospitality sector, we continue to strategically review our portfolio and such decision is a result of the current economic challenges including spiralling utility, food and beverage costs and the unstable labour market," the group said.

"D&D London intend to look after the restaurants’ greatly valued staff and management and wherever possible will seek to offer exciting positions in our other venues."

The closures come after D&D London placed several of its UK sites on the market late last year.

They included Klosterhaus; Issho and East 59th in Leeds; and 100 Wardour Street, Avenue, Cantina and the Blueprint Café in London.

Radici, which was located opposite the Almeida Theatre in London's Angel, was not listed at the time.

In its statement, D&D London said it continued to trade well and had 'a very positive December' despite the ongoing industrial disputes effecting transport.

It also said the group's most recent opening, Orelle in Birmingham, which launched in October last year, was trading very well and exceeding revenue projections.
