Chef Francesco Mazzei is to leave D&D London this month in order to spend more time travelling and focusing on his charity work.

Mazzei’s departure was confirmed this morning (6 April) by journalist Richard Vines, who said the chef would be leaving his role on 11 April after seven years with the group.

Sartoria and Fiume, the two London restaurants led by Mazzei under the D&D umbrella, will both continue to operate.

“It's been a pleasure working at Sartoria and Fiume, mentoring young chefs and cooking great Italian food,” Mazzei told Vines.

“But now I want to travel and to focus on my charity work.”

Mazzei joined D&D London in 2015 as chef patron of Sartoria on Savile Row in Mayfair. He went on to launch two more restaurants with the group: Fiume at Battersea Power Station and Radici in Islington, the latter of which was closed by D&D earlier this year.

On Mazzei’s departure, D&D London CEO David Loewi said: “D&D London thank our friend and partner Francesco Mazzei for all that has been achieved over the last seven years together.

“The legacy Francesco leaves at beloved restaurants, Sartoria and Fiume, will live on with the vision he created and the teams he inspired.

“We wish him all the best in his new endeavours and are confident that our paths will cross again.”
