Dutch cheffing duo Gabriël Verheij and Alexandre Scour will bring their brand of ‘inventive luxury comfort food’ to Notting Hill later this month.

On Golborne Road, TBC (which stands for The Butter Club) will offer a concise menu of globally-inspired dishes including nori mayo and caviar; BBQ langoustine and Sichuan butter sauce; Hokkaido milk bread lobster roll; and the duo’s signature fried buttermilk chicken brioche feuilletée.

The menu will be paired with a selection of craft beers, ‘buttery twists’ on classic cocktails and a ‘booty-shaking hip hop soundtrack’.

Verheij and Scour met in the kitchen at Vanderveen in Amsterdam’s upmarket Oud-Zuid neighbourhood - having previously worked at restaurants including the Michelin-starred RIJKS at the Rijksmuseum; Tonka and Vue de Monde in Melbourne; and at Bar du Champagne.

The pair have built a ‘dedicated fan base’ through constant pop-ups, residencies and collaborations across the Dutch capital.

“A lot of these ideas were formed when we lived together on the Nieuwe Herengracht canal,” says Verheij. “Since then we’ve been throwing supper clubs and one-off dinners at restaurants throughout Amsterdam - but bringing some of our favourite dishes to London is a huge thing for us. We can’t wait to show the UK what TBC is all about.”

Scour added: “From what I can see, Notting Hill is popping off right now - there are so many good restaurants and Golborne Road is a big part of that. It’s the ideal place to humbly show Londoners the style of cooking and flavours we’ve been developing in Amsterdam.”
