Sessions to launch in Manchester next year

Food hall brand Sessions has chosen Manchester for the launch of its second large-scale concept.

The company has taken on a 30,000sq ft in the St John’s Development, dubbed Manchester’s new ‘city centre neighbourhood', which is due to open in open in early 2024

The venue will be home to a number of independent operators from the Northwest of the country along with a number of national and international brands.

“It is always our desire at Sessions to find the most exciting talent and concepts and anchor them in dynamic physical environments. The Shipyard represents expansion into a new region, via a scheme that represents a cultural heartbeat for the community," says founder and CEO Dan Warne.

“We hope to incubate some of the top talent from the area and give them national and international reach via our network, while introducing some of the most interesting concepts from around the world to the people of Manchester.”

Sessions opened its first venue in Brighton’s Shelter Hall​ in 2020 followed by the launch of smaller venue Sessions Islington in August last year. The Islington venue has since been rebranded as Neighbourhood​. Both venues feature a roster of regularly rotating kitchen residencies, which have included partnerships with chefs Hasan Semay, Jay Morjaria, Zoe Adjonyoh, and Richie Hayes and Elliot Kaye for their respective concepts Big Has, Tiger and Rabbit, Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen, and Norman’s.

The company also has a portfolio of more than 120 delivery kitchens.
