The team behind West London bar and restaurant The Hawk’s Nest will open a large second venue in the capital later this month.

Peckham Arches will span five railway arches and two large disused goods yards adjacent to Peckham Rye station and will have space for 600 people inside and out and house a number of different bar and food elements and private events spaces as well as showcasing local artists, live music, and DJs.

Concepts within the venue include Skylarking, a 200-cover neighbourhood hangout that will serve sourdough pizzas and cocktails and host live entertainment. It will have a heated cocktail terrace that will sit alongside an open fire kitchen and charcoal grill, an art gallery, screening room and private cocktail bar focussing on tequila and mezcal based drinks.

“We are delighted to be launching our next neighbourhood and community bar concept, Peckham Arches, in one of London’s most exciting and vibrant areas in time for a busy summer,” says Frazer Timmerman, co-founder of hospitality group Bird House London.

Bird House London was founded by Timmerman, formerly of Incipio Group, and William Fuller, who was previously at Soho House. Its first venue was The Hawk’s Nest in Shepherd’s Bush, which opened in 2020. The 220-cover pizzeria and cocktail bar is currently undergoing renovations to install a fully retractable roof at the space.
