Michelin Guide 2023 deletions: The Woodspeen and Seven Park Place lose stars

It is one of two operating restaurants to have lost their accolades this year, with the other being Seven Park Place within London’s St James's Hotel.

Both restaurants continue to be 'recommended' by the Guide. 

A further six restaurants have been deleted as a result of having closed in the last year. They include London restaurants Maos and The Glasshouse, and Casamia in Bristol.

The Woodspeen was launched by chef John Campbell in 2014 and had held a Michelin star since 2015.

Campbell left the restaurant in late 2020 and since then the kitchen at The Woodspeen has been led by executive chef Peter Eaton.

Seven Park Place, meanwhile, has held a Michelin star since 2011 when the restaurant was taken over by William Drabble, who continues to lead the kitchen.

The Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2023 was unveiled at last night’s (27 March) star revelation ceremony, which took place at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire.

A total of three new restaurants received two Michelin stars in this year’s guide, with a further 20 gaining one star.

Alex Dilling at Hotel Café Royal achieved the rare feat of going straight into the Guide with two stars​​​​​​, despite only opening last year.
