Plant-based restaurant Holy Carrot will launch its debut permanent restaurant in Notting Hill this autumn.

The restaurant will open at 156 Portobello Road with the 2,000sq ft site occupying the ground floor and basement of the site.

It will take a ‘peel to root’ approach with the menu to include Holy Carrot classics such as its sexy tofu; holy buffalo wings; and truffle celeriac risotto as well as new additions.

“We are delighted to be opening our flagship location in London as we expand our presence throughout the capital,” says Irina Linovich, Holy Carrot founder.

“Portobello Road is an iconic destination and one which is rich in creativity and difference, mirroring our unique offer seamlessly.”

Holy Carrot began life at Urban Retreat in June 2021 serving a plant-based menu of seasonal, organic British produce that has been ethically sourced. It announced earlier this year that it was looking to open its first permanent site in the capital with locations including Chelsea, Marylebone, Soho, Bloomsbury, Notting Hill and Islington being mooted.

The site was secured by property agent Shelley Sandzer. “The site at Portobello Road provides an excellent opportunity for an independent brand to occupy a prime position in one of London’s most distinguished locations,” says Shelley Sandzer joint managing partner Nick Weir.

“This move is as progressive for Notting Hill’s F&B scene as it is for Holy Carrot. They stand out for their innovation, creativity, and genuine care for customers, and are in a great position to launch their flagship here.”
