Bar operator Arc Inspirations will open its largest BOX bar to date in Birmingham this June.

The sports bar and kitchen brand will open a 10,000sq ft venue at Brindleyplace in what will be Arc Inspiration’s 19th venue under its Banyan Bar & Kitchen, Manahatta and BOX brands across the Midlands and the north of England.

The new venue will be spread over two floors with space for 575 guests. It will have an upstairs bar and private dining room as well as an open kitchen and island bar on the ground floor.

The food menu will include dishes such as Tater Tots; hot honey pizza; a pizza fondue – triple cheese stuffed pizza dough smothered in garlic butter, with a fondue of melted cheese and pizza sauce; and Detroit-style fully loaded four cheese and tomato deep dish pizzas as well burgers and kebabs.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be opening our biggest venue ever. We love Birmingham and we’re confident BOX will quickly become a popular addition to the incredible nightlife and bar scene here, just like Manahatta has,” says Arc Inspirations CEO Martin Wolstencroft.

“BOX has been a huge hit in major cities like Leeds and Manchester, and this is the right time to bring the brand to the West Midlands. The new venue will create 70 jobs in the local area, including managers, bar, floor and kitchen staff and we’re truly delighted to be expanding our fantastic team.”

BOX Brindleyplace will be Arc Inspirations’ second venue in Birmingham, following the launch of Manahatta on Temple Street in 2021.

The new opening follows a period of strong trading for BOX, where like-for-like sales in the six weeks to the end of 2022 were up 22% year-on-year.

Arc Inspirations is planning to open at least two more sites in the next 12 months – BOX in Nottingham, and Manahatta in Newcastle.
