Sussex-based chef Kenny Tutt is expanding his fledgling burger concept Patty Guy with a new site at The Courtyard in Hastings that’s set to launch later this month.

Tutt launched Patty Guy within Brighton’s Shelter Hall food hall in May last year with the new Hastings outpost marking the second outpost for the brand.

It is also available across 19 locations nationwide via a network of delivery kitchens owned by Sessions, which owns Shelter Hall.

The concept specialises in smash burgers served with tater tots and milkshakes, and is an offshoot of Tutt’s robata grill-focused concept Ox Block, which previously operated within Shelter Hall.

Announcing the Hastings opening on Instagram, Tutt said: “I’m super excited to announce my new project I have been working on!

“Here we come Hastings!!!”

Patty Guy’s menu is stripped back and is split between eight burger options and four sides.

Burgers include the ‘patty deluxe’; a double bacon cheeseburger; and a green chilli cheeseburger.

Sides include cheesy tots; and garlic mayonnaise cheese fries.

Tutt, a former MasterChef winner, also operates a flagship restaurant called Pitch in Worthing.

The announcement of Patty Guy’s expansion comes a month after he announced the closure of his Bayside Social restaurant, also in Worthing, which he blamed on rising costs and the long-lasting effects of the pandemic on hospitality.
