Three UK restaurant have made The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 51-100 list 2023.

Shoreditch restaurant Brat (pictured above) placed highest at 53, with Core by Clare Smyth and Lyle’s placing 71th and 86th respectively.

Last year also saw three London restaurants made the high profile awards’ longlist: KOL, Lyle’s and Brat.

The absence of Santiago Lasta’s high-profile Mexican restaurant KOL from the 51-100 list means it may have made the main list, which will be revealed at an awards ceremony in Valencia on 20 June.

Both the longlist and the 1-50 list are the result of votes from the 1,080 independent authorities from the world of gastronomy, 'from renowned international chefs and food journalists to travelling gastronomes'.

The 51-100 list includes 12 new entries from 11 different cities.

15 entries are from Asia, 21 from Europe, six from North America, five from South America and three from the Middle East & Africa.

The highest new entry in the 51-100 list is Mérito, Lima, at No.59

“We are delighted to see restaurants from so many new locations appear on the extended list for the first time this year. All the establishments announced today have demonstrated outstanding hospitality and represent some of the greatest dining experiences across the globe,” says William Drew, director of content for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

"It gives us great pleasure to recognise their achievements and we offer our heartfelt congratulations to the hard-working teams behind their success. We look forward to sharing the celebration with all those represented at the awards ceremony in Valencia later this month.”
