Hackney restaurant Nest is relocating to a larger venue in east London later this year.

Having occupied the Morning Lane venue for five years the team, which also operates Restaurant St. Barts in Smithfield, say they are reopening the restaurant, dubbed Nest 2.0, in a 'bigger, bolder' location.

Nest was launched by co-founders Luke Wasserman, Toby Neill and executive chef Johnnie Crowe in 2018 and serves a tasting menu with chefs focus on one hero ingredient in the kitchen at a time. The final two seasons at the original restaurant will be chicken season in July and vegetable season through August, before Nest 2.0 opens its doors.

“It’s a bittersweet moment for us - we’ve loved every minute of our time on Morning Lane, but it’s time for us to move into a space that allows us to continue to push boundaries and improve the experience for our amazing guests and hard-working team,” says Wasserman.

The team were also behind Fulham restaurant Fenn, which opened in April 2021 but which closed earlier this year with the trio citing staffing problems.

The new location for Nest will be announced next month.
