Woodhead Restaurant Group, the London-based operator behind The Quality Chop House, Portland and Clipstone, will launch its latest venture this summer on Goodge Street in Fitzrovia.

First announced back in April and spotted by Hot Dinners, 64 Goodge Street will be led by head chef Stuart Andrew, who cut his teeth cooking in Paris and has previously worked at both Portland and Clipstone.

Andrew describes the menu at 64 Goodge Street as being ‘an outsider's perspective’ on French cuisine and will be founded on classical techniques and a ‘resolute spirit of generosity’.

Dishes under consideration for the launch menu include artichokes à la barigoule; an ‘assiette de canard’ of parfait, rillettes and smoked ham; côte de boeuf with sauce bordelaise; and lobster thermidor.

The French focus will also extend to the drinks menu, with the wine list majoring in bottles from the Côte-d’Or.

The 34-cover dining room will comprise both table and banquette seating, with design consultancy Studio Found overseeing the interiors.

Woodhead Restaurant Group was founded in 2015 with the opening of Portland in Fitzrovia, and is led by restaurateurs William Lander and Daniel Morgenthau.

In the past eight years, it has opened a further four sites across London: Clipstone; The Quality Chop House; The QCH Café and Shop; and Quality Wines.

Portland has held a Michelin star since 2015.
