The team behind inventive cocktail bar Coupette in Bethnal Green have opened a sister venue in Soho.

Called Atelier Coupette, the modern 35-cover cocktail bar and restaurant is located on Moor Street near Shaftesbury Avenue.

It serves a tight French Nouvelle Cuisine-inspired small plates menu split into meat, fish, vegetarian, and vegan sections with dishes that include confit duck leg, duck breast and puy lentils; ox cheek bourguignon with roasted onion and bacon; chargrilled and smoked octopus; red mullet with kumquat puree; and coal-charred hsipi cabbage with sun dried tomato mayo, pickled red onion, pea shoots, and vegan blue cheese granita.

Like its Bethnal Green sibling it also offers a range of inventive cocktails, including draught and frozen options. Drinks on the menu include a nectarine old fashioned; a PBJ made with Brugal 1888, Santa Teresa, Lilet Rose, strawberry and banana peel liqueur, and peanut milk; and a cherry ice cream float made using Red Breast and Talisker whiskeys, vanilla miso, cherry soda, and cultured mascarpone ice cream.

Coupette was launched in Bethnal Green in 2017, headed up by Chris Moore, former head bartender of the Beaufort Bar at The Savoy, with Subjahit Mitra as its director. The bar team is now led by group bar manager Andrei Marcu, head bartender Georgia Balson, and senior bartender Klara Kopcikova.

The new venue is located next door to newly-opened Awadhi cuisine restaurant BKC, which is co-owned by Mitra.
