El Pastor to open at Battersea Power Station
El Pastor will launch its new space in a ‘prime position’ on the riverside, opposite the north entrance to the Grade II listed Power Station, in the spring of next year.
The restaurant will comprise a 90-cover indoor dining room; a drinks-led standing bar area for 20; a 26-cover Mexican greenhouse-inspired private dining room; and a 60-cover open-all-year outdoor terrace.
“Over the years we have watched the remarkable transformation of Battersea Power Station and its surroundings with many levels of wonder,” says Crispin Somerville, who leads Harts Group alongside Sam Hart and Anna Watkins.
“We are thrilled to be opening a new Pastor not only on the banks of the Thames but also in the shadow of one of London’s most iconic landmarks.”
El Pastor Battersea’s interiors will be overseen by Harts Creative, the newly launched design company set up by James Hart, former chief design officer at Harts Group.
The design will take cues from the industrial, urban materiality and colour of Mexico City, and also reference the heritage of Battersea Power Station.
El Pastor Battersea will be the fourth restaurant under the Mexican brand for Harts Group, whose portfolio also includes the Barrafina, Parrillan and Bar Daskal brands.
The first El Pastor opened on London Bridge’s Stoney Street in December 2016 and was followed by Casa Pastor Coal Drops Yard in October 2018, and El Pastor Soho in June 2021.
