Wood-fired pizza restaurant group Pizza Punks has plans to open new sites in Edinburgh, Manchester, Cardiff and Birmingham as part of its plans to grow into a UK-wide business.

The company, which was founded in 2015 by Brad Stevens, has appointed FRP Corporate Finance to assist it with raising capital at it looks toward the next stage of its growth.

Pizza Punks currently operates eight restaurants across the UK having opened four new venues in 2022 in Leicester, Nottingham, Durham and Liverpool. Its other sites are located in Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow, and Belfast.

It hopes to open a further four sites in Edinburgh, Manchester, Cardiff and Birmingham in 2024, taking its estate to 12, with four other major university cities to follow.

“We are extremely excited about where Pizza Punks is at, both as a brand and a business, and the opportunities it has for significant further growth,” says Stevens, founder and CEO at Hell Yeah Hospitality Group.

“We’ve seen very strong sales across the entire Pizza Punks portfolio, which has driven record sales for us recently. This has come off the back of exceeding our budget expectations, as well as getting our labour and cost of sales into a healthy position during our last financial year.

“We have reviewed our options for expansion and have identified the next cities we are keen to bring the Pizza Punks experience to, working closely with FRP to identify funding options for our next stage of growth.

"We are feeling really positive about what the future holds for Pizza Punks.”

Pizza Punks has strengthened its senior team ahead of its next stage of growth with James Richardson joining Hell Yeah in the newly formed role of director of operations and people. Richardson previously held the position of head of operations for The Apartment Group, managing the operations of a collection of boutique hotels, wedding venues, bars and restaurants.

David Moffat has come on board as commercial director with Louise McCabe appointed sales, marketing and band director.
