Zia Lucia opens first regional restaurant in Reading
The group, which operates nine pizzerias across London, has taken on a site on St Mary’s Butt’s in the town centre.
As with Zia Lucia’s London sites, the restaurant will serve pizzas available to order on a range of different doughs including traditional, gluten-free, wholemeal, and charcoal.
Speaking at the Reading launch yesterday (3 April), Zia Lucia co-founder Claudio Vescovo told The Reading Chronicle: “We are thrilled to see the Reading restaurant finally open its doors, boasting all the traditional Italian charm synonymous with our London restaurants.”
Zia Lucia’s expansion outside of London comes after the group announced plans last summer to expand across the UK following its success in the capital.
At the time it was reported that the group had instructed real estate advisor Savills for its expansion across the rest of the UK with plans to open between five and 10 sites throughout the rest of the UK over the next three years.
Vescovo launched Zia Lucia back in 2016 with his business partner Gianluca D'Angelo.
The pair also operate hand-made fresh pasta concept Berto, which has a single restaurant located next door to Zia Lucia’s Islington pizzeria.
