Luxury English chocolate collection from Marc Demarquette
The top chocolatier has teamed up with Tregothnan estates to create a range of traditional English chocolates

Award winning chocolatier Marc Demarquette has teamed up with Tregothnan, one of Britain’s finest private country estates to create the bespoke English Chocolate Collection, perfect served with coffee or as an after dinner treat.

Using Tregothnan’s knowledge of growing and cultivating plants on their estates, many of which are rare specimens, Demarquette has created a traditional English chocolate collection including its three signature ganache chocolates, Earl Grey Tea, Kea Plum, and Heather Honey.

As a fitting tribute to Earl Grey himself, whose descendants the Boscawen family have lived on the estates since 1335, Demarquette has infused the distinctive yet subtle taste of Tregothnan grown Earl Grey tea leaves and citrus bergamia, with 65 per cent dark chocolate and fresh Tregothnan Jersey cream.

The rare Kea Plums are grown in just one area of the world – the Tregnothnan Estate in Cornwall, and Demarquette gently cooks them down to prepare the basis for his sweet ganache recipe. The smoothness of the Tregothnan cream and dark chocolate combined with gooey plum pieces throughout make for a sweet and indulgent experience.

For an even smoother treat, Demarquette has stirred the honey gathered from the bees buzzing around the wild Heather plantations on the estate into the cream and chocolate mixture to evoke a hint of the Cornish wildflowers in the Tregothnan Heather Honey chocolate.

Demaquette said: “My chocolates are derived from pure passion – passion for the traditional artisan craft and passion for the perfection of my finished product. My creations offer a pure explosion of contemporary flavours that aim to stimulate people’s imagination.”

The collection was previewed at the Speciality and Fine Food Fair at Kensington Olympia, and will be officially launched during UK Chocolate Week October 13-19.
