Hotel-style support operator Bennett Hay has appointed former Restaurant Associates executive chef Andy Aston its new development chef to oversee its dining operations.

Aston, who worked as head chef at Goldman Sachs while at Restaurant Associates, will also act as a mentor to Bennett Hay's kitchen teams who deliver a range of catering, hospitality and fine dining operations for businesses such as Land Securities.

The chef, winner of the Craft Guild of Chef's Chef's Chef of the Year award in 2008 and creator the Back to the Kitchen Dinner, said he was joining the company at an exciting time and was looking forward to continuing his mentoring work with 'the nation's most promising young chefs'.

Robin Hay, director at Bennett Hay added: “We are delighted to welcome on board one of the hospitality industry’s shining lights over the past decade. Andy’s demonstrable commitment to achieving not only new standards of culinary delivery in the workplace, but also to mentoring the next generation of British chefs, made him the standout candidate for the position of development chef.”
