Soho Pizzeria, located on London’s Beak Street, has been sold to Gondola Group – the operators of Pizza Express, Zizzi and ASK.

The 4,000 sq.ft site is open every day of the week, comprising of a café, restaurant and bar which features daily live musicians. Gondola, which has leased the site at a rent of £300,000 per annum, plans to retain the Soho Pizzeria brand within its portfolio.

“The story has come full circle as one of the owners of Soho Pizzeria is Peter Boizot, who started Pizza Express back in 1965,” said Nick Weir, a director at Shelley Sandzer, who advised the restaurant on the deal. “Now, the Gondola Group who own Pizza Express today has bought the business . It’s a nice story.

“Soho Pizzeria is an institution in Central London; it is located on one of the best corners in Soho so bidding was fierce for our clients business.”

Last year, Gondola retained top spot in the R200 - Restaurant magazine’s annual list of the top restaurant operators in the UK.
