British tabletop manufacturer Steelite International has launched the new ‘Opera’ range of bowls to meet an increasing demand for bowl food from its clients.

Product details:

With bowl food becoming a more popular option for both casual and occasion dining, Steelite’s all-white Opera bowls enhance the colour and tone of food presentation.

The bowls come in three sizes - 12.5cm, 23cm and 29.5cm - each featuring symmetrical but opposing curves, intended to ‘draw the eye to the food and excite the palate’. They are suitable for appetisers, entrees and desserts.

Manufactured at the home of pottery in Stoke-on-Trent, the Opera bowl range is covered by a lifetime edge- chip warranty to give the operator the reassurance that they are investing in a quality product that is specifically designed for the heavy usage of the hospitality industry.

The new range is available to all UK foodservice businesses now. To purchase, click here.

Why you should buy it:

Simon Hulstone, head chef at the Michelin-starred Elephant restaurant and brasserie in Torquay and captain of the Steelite-sponsored English culinary team, said: “We see bowl food moving to the next level. This exciting trend allows the chef to offer more complex dishes as bowl food presented in smaller portions. Guests can be offered two or three small bowls of delicious small meals and still enjoy a sophisticated eating experience.

“The Opera bowls with their uniquely inspired shell shapes will add style to any occasion.”

More information:

Steelite trades with more than 130 countries across the globe and its products are the favoured brand of hotel chains such as Hilton and Four Seasons as well as food operations as diverse as the MOD, Whitbread and Little Chef.
