A new mobile app which allows customers to ‘spin of a wheel of fortune’ to win exclusive money-off promotions is now completely free for pubs and bars across the UK.

Product details:

Appy Hour UK, which launched in June 2013, is a new way to connect venues with their existing customers and attract new ones.

Once the app is downloaded, customers can find their nearest Appy Hour-registered establishment via a map or location lookup. They will then see when that business is running an ‘Appy Hour’ (this does not need to be limited to one hour).

The customer can then go into the establishment, order food or drink, and tell the business they are ‘spinning’ the wheel to see if they win the promotion on offer - from paying full price for what they have ordered to receiving their complete round paid for!!

USP:

Appy Hour UK is 100 per cent customisable for each pub or bar. The business decides what prizes are on offer, what odds are on each spin, what rules the customers must adhere to, and they have a  place to advertise their venue in the palm of their customers’ hands.

Cost:

Due to discussions with large on-trade advertisers and the addition of a simple, three-second advert upon the app loading (like YouTube), being part of Appy Hour UK is now completely free. There is no monthly fee and no charge at all for the business.

Availability:

Appy Hour is available to all UK pubs and bars now. For further information on Appy Hour UK, the benefits of Appy Hour UK, how the app works, the sign up process and terms and conditions, visit www.appyhouruk.com.

Why you should buy it:

A spokesperson for Appy Hour UK listed the following business benefits of the app: -

  • Increase footfall - An Appy Hour may be the final push to get someone through the door that was otherwise not 100 per cent sure they would. It’s a great incentive for the customer, and everyone loves a gamble, but the customer cannot lose.
  • Data collection - At the end of every month, each establishment will receive the data of all the registered users that have ‘spun’ in that establishment. This will include name and email address for marketing purposes.
  • Improved social media - Each establishment’s Facebook and Twitter details are listed directly on the landing page. The customer also has the ability to tweet and Facebook the moment that they win, tagging your establishment in directly within the app.
  • Off-peak Sales driver - Establishments wishing to attract customers in at off peak times could run an Appy Hour to entice a customer in. Some establishments may even want to run an Appy Hour where every spin is a guaranteed win - selling a £10 round and giving away a free soft drink is better than selling nothing at all.
  • Advertisement - Each establishment has their own landing page within the app. Here they can advertise about their venue and upcoming events.

More information:

Appy Hour UK was released in the Apple App Store in June 2013, with its first establishments going live in July 2013.
