German-Gymnasium
German Gymnasium opened in London’s Kings Cross on 12 November with executive chef Bjoern Wassmuth at the helm of the kitchen.
Serving Mittel-European food with a German twist, Wassmuth’s meals will be served in the first floor restaurant while the Grand Café on the ground floor will serve a modern European menu.
Along with the restaurant and café there is an al-fresco dining area, patisserie counter and the Meister Bar.
The building was designed by architect Edward Gruning in 1864 and was the first purpose-built gym in the country. It hosted the world’s first indoor Olympic Games in 1886.
