Jul-Pokemon-Go
Pokémon Go: a global gaming craze that saw people wandering around the streets staring at their phones and throwing virtual balls at imaginary creatures, hit its peak in July and some in the hospitality sector were keen to capitalise on its popularity.
Some restaurants and pubs listed as poke stops reported an increase in trade while others dropped 'lures' to encourage diners and drinkers to visit their establishment and catch an Eevee or a Wild Pidgey while eating a burger.
The fad was short-lived, however, with the game losing favour soon after the new autumn term started and our bet is you'd forgotten all about until you read this.
