Morty & Bobs will open its third site next month, in Kensal Rise, with plans to open two venues a year going forward.

The all-day restaurant, café and bar will open on 5 December on College Road and will have space for 48 covers.

It follows the opening of Morty & Bob’s King’s Cross in Coal Drops Yard in 2018 and the 2019 the opening of Morty’s all day food counter, in Westfield Shepherd’s Bush.

The new restaurant will serve a menu of comfort food and American-influenced dishes as well as a range of lighter dishes created specifically for the Kensal Rise location. Menu items will include the everything bagel with smoked salmon, chive cream cheese, tomatoes, onions and capers; confit duck hash with mustard, a maple glaze and a fried egg; Bob’s burger and fries; a grain bowl with roasted greens, beet houmous, avocado, cashew and chilli oil; and chicken schnitzel with dill pickles and fired capers, chopped salad and harissa aioli.

Morty & Bob’s started life street food stall in east London’ Netil Market, founded by Charlie Phillips, and shot to fame with its grilled cheese sandwich. It is now backed by investor Edition Capital, which is aiming to open two sites per year nationally across the UK.

“I’m thrilled to be expanding the Morty & Bob’s brand with our third permanent restaurant in London,” says Phillips.

“The Kings Cross location already has a cult and loyal following and we’re looking forward to reaching a new demographic in the bustling, vibrant and cool neighbourhood area of Kensal Rise. Our brand is sleek and simple - centred around quality food, reasonable prices, and a warm welcome.

“We’ve already been accepted wholeheartedly by the local Kensal Rise community, which has been amazing, and look forward to our official opening!”
