Soon-to-launch Hyde Park Corner hotel The Peninsula London will be home to a contemporary European restaurant from two-star chef Claude Bosi as well as an ‘innovative’ Chinese restaurant.

Set to open to the public this year, the 190-bedroom luxury hotel will house Brooklands, a rooftop restaurant where the food will be overseen by Bosi. Named after the motor racing circuit and aerodrome in Weybridge in Surrey, Brooklands has been designed by architect Archer Humphryes and will take its cues from the classic eras of British aviation and motorsport.

An overhead scale model of the iconic Concorde will give 'diners the sense of being airborne'.

Details of the menu have yet to be released.

On the ground floor, Canton Blue will celebrate the ‘spice-trade union of Asian and British cultures’ with menus of creative dishes by chef Dicky To.

The space’s exotic décor, created by Hong Kong-based interior designer Henry Leung of CAP Atelier, was inspired by the Keying junk, a three-masted, 800-ton Chinese trading ship which sailed between China and Britain between 1846 and 1848.

Like the Keying’s upper deck, the restaurant is divided into several areas at different levels – including the ground-floor Little Blue Bar.

The Lobby restaurant will offer signature Peninsula Afternoon Tea and all-day dining classics, soundtracked to live music daily.

Guests will also find an ultra-luxurious retail and grab-and-go concept store in the form of The Peninsula Boutique & Café.

Designed by Hopkins Architects, the hotel is the debut UK project for The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (HSH), which operates a global portfolio of luxury hotels including the Peninsula brand. It was first mooted in 2015 and was originally supposed to launch in 2021.

Brooklands will be the second restaurant to launch this year involving Bosi. The chef-patron of Claude Bosi at Bibendum will soon open Socca, a French Riviera-inspired restaurant in Mayfair with Jamavar and MiMi Mei Fair owner Samyukta Nair.
