Jun Tanaka finally set to reopen The Ninth following fire
The Ninth will reopen with a refurbished interior and a menu featuring a range of new dishes.
Tanaka, who opened The Ninth on Charlotte Street back in 2015, was forced to close the restaurant back in July last year following the blaze. At the time it was suggested that the restaurant would only remain closed for a matter of weeks.
The restaurant's refurbishment includes new leather banquettes and tableware to 'bring a more contemporary feel' to the dining room.
New dishes set to feature on the menu include tuna belly, mojama and anchovy vinaigrette; venison tartare with Jerusalem artichokes and sour plums; and pork cheek tortellini with lardo and salsa verde.
The entire kitchen and front of house team remain in place from prior to the closure, with some additional team members joining the fold too.
In the intervening months while the restaurant has been closed, Tanaka has kept his team engaged through a series of training sessions including a mushroom foraging adventure in the New Forest, Hampshire; and a chorizo-making workshop at London Smoke & Cure in Streatham.
The Ninth will reopen on Thursday 9 March for dinner, and for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday from 10 March.
