Restaurant group JKS has announced its Apprenticeship Academy will return for a second year following its successful launch in 2022.

Created to offer aspiring participants the opportunity to work across the restaurant group’s portfolio, the course offers access to 14 different brands across the JKS estate, including Michelin-starred restaurants Trishna, Gymkhana, Sabor, Kitchen Table, and Lyle’s as well as its venues BiBi, Brigadiers, Hoppers, BAO Berenjak, Plaza Khao Gaeng, Speedboat Bar, and its two pubs, The Cadogan Arms and The George.

Two programmes are being offered - a Front of House Program for a Level 2 Hospitality Team Member and a Back of House Program to become a Level 2 Commis Chef - with apprentices learning a variety of skills, cuisines and dining styles.

Both programs are made up of on and off the job training and include two months experience at six restaurants across the business.

The final two to three months are treated as an assessment, where apprentices present their newly-learned skills. At the end of the program, those successful will be offered full time roles or move onto a higher level apprenticeship.

“It has been such a joy to see such incredible talent and energy develop in our restaurants from our first cohort," says Sunaina Sethi, people director and co-founder at JKS Restaurants.

“We truly look forward to growing, learning and improving our program for future intakes."

Sharma, chef-patron at BiBi, describes the programme as a “a transformative journey into the world of gastronomy”

“With hands-on training from industry-leading chefs, a vibrant and dynamic culinary environment, and a commitment to fostering talent, the programme provides a unique opportunity for individuals to refine their skills, unlock their culinary potential, and thrive in the ever-evolving culinary landscape of London," he says.
