Highly-rated Birmingham restaurant Carters of Moseley has confirmed it will permanently relocate within the city early next year.

The Michelin-starred restaurant, which is led by owners Brad Carter and Holly Jackson, recently decamped from its site on St Mary's Row in Birmingham’s Moseley suburb to The Vale of Evesham for an extended residency run in partnership with Carters’ long-standing supplier Will Boers of specialist grower Westlands UK.

It has now been made official that the restaurant will not return to its original home after the residency comes to an end on 5 November, and that Carter and Jackson will instead relaunch it in a new location in early 2024.

Details of the new site are yet to be confirmed and expected to be announced in the coming months.

Housed within a greenhouse on the Westlands UK estate and surrounded by living herbs, flowers and fauna, guests to the residency can enjoy an eight course tasting menu 'inspired by the area’s natural bounty' and chef Carter’s ethos of ‘ultra-British seasonality’.

Dishes include fresh cheese and nasturtium summer tartare; green tiger stripe tomato with cox crab and English cucumber; and a BBQ flatbread.

“I’m buzzed to be cooking at Westlands UK, to see our idea come to fruition feels great,” says Carter.

“Westlands UK are committed to sustainability so our responsibility throughout summer is to support their ongoing mission of work - the menu sits at around 75% of produce grown in and around the dining space.”

A regular on the National Restaurant Awards top 100 list, Carters of Moseley launched back in 2010.

Carter is also behind gourmet kebab brand One Star Döner Bar, which has locations in Birmingham and Manchester.
