Later this year will see the launch of a small yet opulent caviar bar within the recently created Medici Courtyard in Mayfair’s Hanover Square.

The Caviar Bar will serve ‘reasonably priced’ and ‘authentic’ seafood dishes including oysters, sushi, small plates, and seafood platters.

There will be an extensive caviar selection - including Royal Beluga, Oscietra, Imperial, and Royal Baerli – all served with blinis, potato and créme fraiche.

The drinks list will include fine wines and Champagne, with an emphasis on white wine pairings and premium spirits.

Designed in-house, the 700sq ft site will feature onyx and mirrors for a luxury feel throughout, with the bar serving as the centrepiece within the space. The restaurant will also incorporate a retail element.

The 8,400sq ft Medici Courtyard forms part of the wider Hanover development, led by GPE and delivered as part of the Crossrail project, encompassing over 200,000 sq ft of offices, apartments, and retail space, between Hanover Square and New Bond Street.

“Having The Caviar Bar as the latest retailer to choose our prestigious Hanover development truly brings to life GPE’s vision of establishing the Medici Courtyard as a luxury destination,” says Sarah Goldman, head of retail at GPE.

“The food and drink store compliments the other retail offerings, including The Maine restaurant, WatchHouse coffee house. We’re excited for the continued growth of the luxury sector in London’s West End, particularly how elevated experiences are driving spend in the area.

Ted Schama, joint managing partner at Shelley Sandzer, who acted on behalf of GPE in the deal, added: “It has been great to work alongside GPE in securing The Caviar Bar’s debut concept. Not only does it radiate class and luxury, but it embodies the very essence of Mayfair and will fit seamlessly with the surrounding tenants, as well as being situated in an accessible, high footfall area for commuters and tourists, with the Elizabeth Line a stone’s throw away.”
