The North West-based QVO Hospitality, parent company of Maray Restaurants, have entered into an operating partnership with Jonathan and Miles Falkingham to take over the management of Liverpool restaurant Buyers Club.

QVO - which comprises of one Maray restaurant in Manchester, two Maray restaurants in Liverpool and modern pub The One O’Clock Gun on Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock - is run by founders James Bates and Thomas White.

The company assumes management of Buyers Club from today (12 December). Launched in 2015, Buyers Club is billed as a neighbourhood bar and kitchen that majors in pasta, pizza and natural wine.

“We love Buyers Club, we’ve been regulars there for years and so when this opportunity arose we jumped for it. The team in place is great, they’re doing a brilliant job and we can’t wait to work with them to take Buyers Club into the new year,” White says of the acquisition.

White and Bates are joined by new shareholders Lucy Noone Blake and Tom Stanley, both long term board members of the company.

Maray was founded in 2014 in Liverpool and is inspired by the owners’ experiences in the Le Marais district of Paris, an area that is well-known for its Middle Eastern food.

The group offers Middle Eastern-inspired sharing plates including the likes of Disco Cauliflower with chermoula, harissa, yoghurt, tahini, pomegranate, parsley, almonds; Lamb Kofta with labneh, rhubarb, confit garlic; and Baklava Cheesecake with orange butterscotch, rose, pistachio.
