Gin Joint
Contract caterer Searcys shut its restaurant at The Barbican on 4 August and just over a month later re-opened it as Gin Joint, a brasserie and bar specialising in, yes you've guessed it, gin.
Forty varieties of gin are on offer to customers and head chef Oliver Tobias has also used the spirit or elements of it in many of his dishes, such as the chilled cucumber and Beefeater gin gazpacho.
While it no doubt taps into burgeoning consumer interest in gin, the restaurant also takes its inspiration from the fact that its location was once known as the gin capital of the world.
