Flower Burger planning UK roll out

Flower Burger will work with London-based multi-brand operator Gerry’s Group, which also oversees the UK’s Wok to Walk franchise, to develop the business.

The partnership has been engineered by franchise consultant Seeds Consulting, and will see up to 45 Flower Burger restaurants open in ‘key cities’ over the next 10 years.

Founded in 2015, Flower Burger currently operates 14 international sites in across Italy, France, and the Netherlands.

The menu features a range of vegan burgers made with patties that are produced in-house, and served in buns that have been coloured with natural ingredients to make them Instagram friendly.

Options include the ‘Cherry Bomb’, featuring a lentil and basmati rice patty in pink bun; and the signature ‘Flower Burger’ with a seitan and red kidney bean patty served in a black bun.

“People do not normally associate vegan food with fun and enjoyment,” says Flower Burger’s founder and managing director Matteo Toto.

“Flower Burger is about changing this perception, with a psychedelic brand and restaurant décor and a natural, great tasting product that we produce ourselves and that is unique to us”.

Flower Burger isn’t the only plant-based burger brand looking to grow its presence in the UK.

Last week, The Vurger Co announced plans to open its first restaurant outside London​​ after securing a £1.4m investment.

In January, Halo Burger launchedits first bricks and mortar site in Shoreditch, and is in the process of trying to secure funding​​ in order to expand to multiple sites.

Meanwhile, the Lewis Hamilton-backed Neat Burger​​ in Mayfair made its debut last September, with an eye to opening more than 100 sites across the UK and internationally in the next five years.
