Flower Burger quietly exits UK market

Milan-based vegan burger chain Flower Burger has quietly exited the UK market little more than two years after launching its first London site.

The group, which originally had plans to open more than 40 sites across the UK, is understood to have closed its Fitzrovia restaurant earlier this year and has now also shuttered its only other site, on Brighton’s North Street.

Flower Burger launched its first UK site on Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia in May 2021 and opened its Brighton outpost later that year.

The group signed a master franchise agreement with London-based, multi-brand food and beverage operator Gerry’s Group to develop the brand across the UK. The partnership was engineered by franchise consultant Seeds Consulting with a view to opening 45 Flower Burger restaurants in ‘key cities’ over a 10 year period.

Restaurant has contacted Gerry’s Group for comment on the closures.

Founded in 2015, Flower Burger operates restaurants in Italy, France, and the Netherlands.

The menu features a range of vegan burgers made with patties that are produced in-house and served in buns that have been coloured with natural ingredients to make them Instagram friendly.

Options include the signature ‘Flower Burger’ featuring a seitan and red kidney bean patty served in a black bun.
