Lahiru Jayasekara, executive chef, The Manor at Weston-on-the-Green
Larry (Lahiru) Jayasekara has been appointed executive chef at The Manor at Weston-on-the-Green in Oxfordshire.
The chef joins with a wealth of experience from one, two and three-Michelin-starred restaurants in London and the South East and is currently preparing for the live final of the Craft Guild of Chefs' National Chef of the Year 2013 on 8 October, alongside eight other chefs.
Originally from a small fishing village in Sri Lanka, Jayasekara grew up in a family of chefs and so began his passion for fresh simple food working in his parents’ restaurant. He moved to the UK in 2002 and made his big break in 2005 securing a position at The Savoy Grill with Gordon Ramsay. From there he went on to The Waterside Inn Bray, Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons and has recently left the role of senior sous chef at Marcus Wareing at The Berkley.
