Ben Carey has taken up the position of general manager at Southport's The Royal Clifton Hotel and Spa.
Carey has been brought in to oversee the hotel’s "elegant and sympathetic" restoration by new owners, D’Urberville Hotels Limited.
He spent 10 years working as an operations manager at Marriott Hotels in the north of England including in Liverpool and Preston.
He said: “I think now is the right time for me to step up into a general manager position. It feels like a natural career progression and I am confident that I have the knowledge and experience in place to make the most of this incredible opportunity. It’s my first week here and everywhere I look, the hotel is full of potential, from both a food and beverage and an accommodation perspective.”
